What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

Do I need to contact my GP?

No. Chiropractic is a primary contact health profession which means we are trained to make a diagnosis and so referral from you GP is not necessary. However here at prime chiropractic we think it is important to communicate with your GP and make sure they are fully informed of the treatment you are receiving and for that reason, with your permission, we send a report to your GP of our findings and treatment administered.

Will the treatment hurt?

Chiropractic treatment is usually painless unless an area is inflamed, in which case treatment will be modified. You may experience some temporary discomfort after treatment however this is short lived and will last less than a day or so.

How many times do I need to visit?

This will depend on your particular condition, how severe it is, how long you have had the condition, your response to treatment and how much of your chiropractors advice you follow. However here at Prime Chiropractic we will expect to notice a significant improvement by the 2nd to 4th treatment in acute conditions and in chronic conditions we would expect to see a change after the 4th to 6th treatment.
